About Us

Let's talk about mental health

We are open about our own mental health struggles and the power of sharing stories to remind us that these concerns and experiences are common.

Who We Are

We are Hongkongers who share a common goal of working towards destigmatizing mental health issues, developing a safe and supportive community, and providing more convenient and affordable access to mental health services.

Why We Started Common Care

Each of us has had our own struggles with our mental health, and through this, we recognized the importance and benefits of reaching out to friends and family for support and seeking therapy. We found ourselves asking, why don't people talk about their struggles? Why do we seem to prioritize and speak more openly and comfortably about our physical health issues than we do our mental health issues? We wanted to do something about this, and that's why we founded Common Care!

So What is Common Care?

Online Therapy

Common Care Online Therapy platform makes it easy to find a therapist and get therapy anytime, anywhere at affordable prices.
We learned from first-hand experience that searching for a therapist and booking the first session can be a mentally exhausting and costly trial-and-error. For many of us, the inconvenience, stigma and high costs of therapy are main barriers to getting professional help

Online Resources and Community

Community resource hub is the first bilingual English and Chinese website dedicated to providing information on mental health conditions, self-care tips, and story sharing by our community.
We focus on addressing topics that are relevant to day-to-day life, especially in the context of Asian culture and societies. Our goal is for anyone that visits to learn something about mental health and be able to incorporate easy and effective wellness tips in their life.

We’re community-first, always. Think of us as your friends on a shared journey to mental wellness.
Jessica, Founder of Common Care

We take a people-first approach

Mental health is extremely personal, so it’s important for us to make sure that we are inclusive when we design and build our products. Coming from the perspective of a client is where we always start and end with.
In our experience, mental health information and services can be intimidating and filled with difficult jargon to understand. It makes getting help that much more difficult and confusing. We care to always be approachable, personable and non-intimidating.
